Aurora University Athletics

The 2025-2026 athletic seasons culminated with one of the most successful years in the history of Aurora University Athletics. Behind the department achievements are the accomplishments and recognition of the athletes that made the success possible, starting with the Aurora University Female Athlete of the Year.

The award will be presented to senior women's wrestling student-athlete Alexis Janiak, as voted on by staff members of the AU Athletic Department.

A repeat winner of the top athletic award bestowed yearly on a Spartan student-athlete, Janiak earned the 2025-2026 honor with a strong season season.

Her senior season saw her finish as the national runner-up at 131 in NCAA National Championship Tournament, earning her third All-American recognition in her career. She was the CCIW Champion at 131 pounds while also earning the CCIW Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Additionally, Janiak represented the United States and earned a silver medal representing Team USA in World Ranking Tournament.
