The Aurora University Spartan Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of
Chad Trudo as the new strength and conditioning coach and athletic recruitment liaison.
“We are excited to have
Chad Trudo as a part of our athletic staff. Chad brings to us the unique perspective of a successful DIII student-athlete who knows Aurora University intimately,” said Director of Athletics Mark Walsh. “Chad will work well with our student-athletes in the strength and conditioning
area, and will provide a great service to prospects and their families as a liaison to admissions for athletic recruitment.”
Trudo is no stranger to AU, as he spent his college basketball career (2
005-2009) on the court for the Spartans. A four-time captain, Trudo was a three-time Northern Athletics Conference scholar-athlete and two-time NAC All-Conference selection. He finished as a member of the 1,000-point club with 1,333 points, 13th all-time. Trudo was part of three NCAA tournament and NAC championship teams.
Prior to returning to AU, Trudo served as a student assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Dayton, as well as being a strength and conditioning intern at Loyola University Chicago.
“I would like to thank the administration for the opportunity to be the strength and conditioning coach and athletic recruitment liaison at Aurora University. Strength and conditioning is going to be a great addition to Aurora University athletes and students,” Trudo said. ”As an athletic department, we are very excited to begin workouts with teams to further develop talent and skills. Implementing sport-specific workouts will allow AU student-athletes to improve upon health and fitness throughout the entire year, making them more prepared for their competitive seasons.”
Trudo is a certified strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Level 1 Sport Performance Coach USA weightlifting certified. He earned his master's degree in exercise science from the University of Dayton and his bachelor's degree from AU in fitness and health promotion.
