A second-place finish out of 11 teams at the University of Chicago Margaret Bradley Invitational was the type of performance that Head Coach
Ryan Chapman and his Spartans were looking for in the final meet
before the Northern Athletics Conference meet this upcoming weekend.
15 different Spartans tallied a point in the meet that had the Spartans score a total of 116 on the day. Two Spartans won events with senior thrower
Eric Capshaw winning the shot put (14.61 meters) and was fourth in the weight throw (15.89 meters), while sophomore
Paul Beeler won the triple jump (12.58 meters) and was fourth in the long jump (6.11 meters).
Sophomore
Kyle Kayzar finished third in the 800 meter run while setting a school record with his time of 1:59.80. Fellow sophomores, T.J. Jackson finished second in the 55 meter dash (6.84) and second in the 200 meter dash (23.76) and
Juan Mercado finished second in the 55 meter hurdles (8.63) and third in the high jump (1.66 meters).

Omar Ortiz (55m hurdles),
Robert Lopez (200 meter),
Roberto Gonzalez (800 meter),
Bo Price (long and triple jump),
Bryce Quinn (pole vault),
Jesus Gonzalez (shot put and weight throw),
Zach Burke (shot put) and the 4x400 meter relay teams ('A' and 'B').
