AU women fall 12-6 to Falcons

Cochran picked up the groundball and went on to tally three goals on the afternoon
Box Score The Aurora University women's lacrosse team fell in defeat Tuesday afternoon against the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 12-6 on Vago Field in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference match-up.

The Falcons got off to a hot start jumping out to a 5-0 lead before AU's Chrsity Savellano tallied AU's first goal of the afternoon with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half.

The Falcons tallied two more goals before the halftime to make the score at the break 7-1.

The Falcons scored the first two goals of the second-half to increase their lead to 9-1.

AU was able to stop the run when freshman Rachel Cochran found the back of the net to make it 9-2, her first of what would be three goals on the day.

Cochran was able to tally her second goal of the afternoon just five minutes later following another Falcon
goal, keeping AU in the game 10-3.

Savellano picked up her second goal of the day to give AU a 2-0 run and cut the deficit to just six at 10-4.

The Spartans were able to match the Falcons the rest of the way with each team scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game. AU's goals came courtesy of sophomore Danielle Hernandez and Cochran, who finished off her hat trick, making the final score 12-6 in favor of the Falcons.

The loss drops the Spartans to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the MWLC. The Spartans will be in action once again on Tuesday, April 2, as they take on North Central College at 4:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
