Box Score The Aurora University women's lacrosse team's inaugural regular season came to a close
Saturday afternoon as they fell to Augustana College by a score of 23-1 at AU's Vago Field.
The Vikings managed to rattle off 12 goals in the first half, while a strong defensive effort held the Spartans
to just two shots for the entire 30 minutes.
The second half brought on more of the same dominance from Augustana as they were able to put 11 more tallies up on the board. The Spartans were briefly able to celebrate senior day as senior
Kaitlyn Crohan was able to find the back of the net with 21 seconds remaining for the lone Spartan goal of the afternoon.
In goal for the Spartans
Sydney Frey was able to make 15 saves despite being pelted with shots all afternoon. Augustana was led by Christina Lemanski who finished the day with five goals and two assists.
Leaving the program for the Spartans are seniors Kaityln Crohan,
Kylie Lowe, and
Patricia Liu. Crohan started all 15 games for the Spartans while scoring 16 goals and tallying four assists. Lowe was a solid force on the AU defense starting 14 of the 15 Spartan contests. Liu only participated in two games for the Spartans, but provided instrumental senior leadership for the young Spartan.
AU finished the season with a 5-10 overall record and 3-5 in the MWLC.
