Having already clinched the 2014 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships, the Aurora University women's soccer team concluded NACC play on Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin Lutheran College. AU rolled to an 8-0 win as junior
Nicci Bermudes continued her record setting scoring out put.
As the Spartans were rolling to a convincing win, Bermudes added to her 27 goals that she entered the game with. As the first half came to and end, AU led 7-0 and Bermudes had a hat trick boosting her goals to 30 which tied the previous record set in 1998 by Chrissy Plucinski. With the six additional points that accompany the three goals, Bermudes is also now the single season record holder for points in a season with 70 (30 goals and 10 assists), breaking the previous record of 67 also held by Plucinski in 1998.
Joining Bermudes in the first half scoring was
Hunter Coppes and
Brittany Roydhouse with unassisted goals,
Lisa Bajkowski and
Shannon Burke with goals assisted by
Alicia Rotolo and
Alexis Bejarano (two) and Burke assisted on the Bermudes goals.
In the second half, Rotolo would score the games final tally in the 74th minute with an assist from
Kaitlin Im Hof.
AU goalkeepers
