The Aurora University Spartan hockey team hosted the junior varsity portion of the NCAA Division III defending hockey champions from St. Norbert College on Saturday night. The Spartans jumped out to an early lead and rolled to a 13-2 win.

AU got five first period goals, two being power play goals to take a 5-1 lead into the first intermission. Complete game score list can be seen here - goal scorers.

The Spartans added to the lead in the second period with three more goals, all coming in a three minute stretch midway through the period. The first two goals of the period were on the power play with AU going four for eight on the night on the power play.

St. Norbert JV scored both of their goals on the power play as well. AU goalkeeper Lucas Thompson would finish the night with 11 saves in the winning effort.

The third period saw AU add five unanswered goals for the eventual 13-2 win.

With the win, AU is now 4-4 overall (0-3 in the NCAA). Next action for the Spartan hockey team comes on Sunday, November 23 when they host the St. Norbert College JV. Game time is set for 3:15 p.m. in Geneva, Illinois.
