Saturday afternoon in Thornton Gymnasium on the campus of Aurora University saw the AU women's basketball team host the Eagles of Edgewood College with AU picking up their second consecutive win 64-51.

Shannon Koski led the Spartans with a game-high 27 points on 5-of-14 from behind the three-point line. She also added six rebounds, two assists, and two steals with fellow junior
Bethany Dorrington adding 16 points in the winning effort.
The Spartans jumped out to a 16-3 lead behind a three-point basket from Koski and another from Dorrington. With 11:54 to play AU led 18-5 on the Eagles.
Edgewood then answered the Spartans with an 18-4 run over the next 10 minutes to cut the AU lead to 22-21 with just over two minutes to play. A Dorrington three snapped the long streak and would send the Spartans to halftime with a 25-22 lead as the halftime buzzer sounded.

In the first three minutes of the second half, Edgewood came out and took the lead from AU with a 10-2 run and led 32-27.
The Spartans responded with a Koski three and the teams traded baskets and leads over the next 10 minutes. With 6:59 to play the game was tied 42-42.

Molly Rosenow started an 18-4 run for AU that gave them a 14-point lead (60-46) with 48 seconds left.
AU held on in the final seconds to win 64-51 and improve their record to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the NACC. In addition to Dorrington and Koski, AU got four points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots from
Neely Marks and four points and seven rebounds from
Morgan Ricketts.
Next action for the Spartan women's basketball team comes on Tuesday, December 16 when they travel to Dominican University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in River Forest, Illinois.
