With just over eight minutes played in the first half, the Spartans had a six-point lead, 15-9. But the visiting Eagles went on a 13-2 run to take a five point lead of their own with 4:42 to play.
AU then closed out the half with a 12-5 advantage to take the halftime lead. A three-pointer from AU junior
Shannon Koski sent the Spartans in to half with a 29-27 lead on the Eagles. Koski led AU in the first half with 18 points as only four Spartans scored in the opening half.
