The Aurora University men's lacrosse team began their journey to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships when they departed campus with a crowd of faculty and staff sending them on their way.
Before departing campus, the Spartans were greeted and sent off with a tradition AU send-off on the Spartan Terrace behind Thornton Gymnasium.
The Spartans are traveling to Adrian College (13-3) and will take on the Bulldogs on Wednesday, May 7. Game time has been set for 4:00 p.m. (EST). The match-up will be the fifth all-time meeting between the schools and a rematch of former Midwest Lacrosse Conference foes. All-time, AU is 0-4 against Adrian.
AU will enter the NCAA tournament having won 15 consecutive games and a 15-3 overall record. The Spartans were the Midwest Lacrosse Conference regular season and tournament champions with a 10-0 regular season record and 2-0 in the MLC tournament.
