From the opening whistle to the closing horn on Sunday afternoon on Vago Field, the Aurora University women's soccer team controlled the action in defeating the Alverno College Inferno 5-0.

Nicci Bermudes continued her unbelievable scoring streak when she tallied the first of what would be three goals for her in the first 21 minutes of the game. Her first goal came at 7:10 with an assist from
Samantha McLaughlin. Bermudes' second goal came at 14:31 with an assist from
Hunter Coppes and the third goal was at 21:32 with
Brittany Roydhouse assisting on the play.
In the 37th minute
Kaitlin Im Hof gave the Spartans a 4-0 lead with her first goal of the season. Going into halftime, the Spartans would lead 4-0 while controlling the shot differential 20-0.
Just 2:22 into the second half the Spartans added to their lead when Coppes scored her first of the season with an assist from Im Hof.
When the final horn sounded, AU won 5-0 without allowing a shot (33-0).
With the win, AU is now 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan women's soccer team comes on
Wednesday, September 24 when they travel to Concordia University Chicago. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. in River Forest, Illinois.
