The Aurora University women's soccer team extended their shutout streak to six games and 540:02 with a 5-0 win at Lakeland College.
AU got the opening tally and eventual game winning goal at 5:34 when
Nicci Bermudes found
Brittany Roydhouse with a pass and Roydhouse found the back of the net for a 1-0 Spartan lead.
Having picked up an assist on the first goal, Bermudes added to her NCAA Division III women's soccer leading goals scored total with the next two Spartan goals. On the first goal she was assisted by
Kaitlin Im Hof and on the second goal, Roydhouse had the assist. The two goals and assist also adds on to her NCAA leading points total.
In the 36th minute, senior
Lisa Bajkowski scored her first goal of the season with an assist from
Alyssa Mok.
Spartan goalkeeper
Rachael Warnock played the first half and had one save before giving way to
Caitlin DeRuiter for the second half.
The games scoring came to a finish in the 83rd minute off a free kick. Senior
Christine Rohling took the kick and found
Alicia Rotolo for the games fifth and final goal.
With the shutout win, AU is now 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan women's soccer team comes on
Tuesday, September 30 when they host Dominican University. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. on Vago Field in Aurora, Illinois.
