The Aurora University women's soccer team hosted the Stars of Dominican University on a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon and extended their win streak to seven games with a 4-1 victory.
Despite having their shutout streak end at 551:49 when the Stars took a 1-0 lead with Kelly Gerwitz of Dominican finding the back of the net early, the Spartans overcame the possible adversity for a comfortable win.
The Spartans and Stars battled for majority of the first until the Spartans started to heat up in the final 10 minutes of the first half. A beautiful corner kick from
Brittany Roydhouse was able to set up
Lisa Bajkowski to tie the game at one at 35:24.
Just two minutes after,

13 minutes passed with both teams battling before Spartan freshman
Shannon Burke stole the ball deep in Dominican territory and set up
Beth Robbins. Robbins blistered a shot above the out stretched arms of the Star goalkeeper for the goal.
AU and goalkeeper
Rachael Warnock held strong for the remainder of the game to earn the win. AU is now 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
