The Aurora University men's track and field team traveled to the Phoenix Invitational at University of Chicago on Saturday, January 10 with the men placing second out of the seven teams.

For the sprints freshman Camerhon Guyton placed third with a time of 7.07 in the 60m dash. Freshman Bobby Cooks won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.53 while sophomore Taylor Coleman, other final AU qualifier placed fifth with a time of 8.97.

In the 200m dash Guvton ran time of 23.00 placing fourth. Other Spartans who competed in the 200m were sophomore Jaylen Robinson (11^th- 24.53), and Cooks (15^th-25.39).

Competing in the 400m dash were Robinson (fourth- 53.34), junior Alex Duncan (seventh-54.80), senior Cody McSorley (eighth- 56.49) and sophomore Spencer Littlefield (13^th-1:00.15).

Kyle Kayzar won the 800m run with a time of 1:58.43 while freshman Sean Ganey place ninth with a time of 2:17.37.

Matt Meyers took second in the mile run with a time of 4:33.52. Others who competed in the mile were freshman Anthony Barrios (fourth- 4:35.35), freshman TJ Pitcock (fifth- 4:35.72), junior Calvin Robinson (11^th-4:47.65), senior Pete Jaros (13^th- 4:50.95), sophomore Dan Morgan (14^th- 4:52.03), sophomore Kun Deng (20^th- 4:48.38), senior Matt Swanson (23^rd- 5:01), sophomore D.J. Wolfram (24^th- 5:02.60), and freshman Dylan Schatz (30^th- 5:17.00).

The men's 4x400 meter relay team consisted of Kayzar, Meyers, Duncan, and Pitcock. They placed third with a time of 3:34.44. The men's second team consisted of Barrios, Jaros, Swanson and Robinson who placed sxith with a time of 3:45.57. The third team consisted of Deng, sophomore Robert Sprung, Morgan and freshman Mark Rudelich who placed 10^th with a time of 3:57.12.

In the men's high jump junior Loren Iwanicki placed third with a jump of 1.92m. Others who competed in the high jump were Rudelich (fourth- 1.87m), freshman Nick Majka (fourth- 1.87m), sophomore Austen Stewart (fourth-1.87m) and sophomore Brian Rudelich (fourth- 1.87m).

Breaking the school record in the men's pole vault freshman Sean Ganey placed fourth vaulting a height of 4.11m. Other Spartans who vaulted were freshman Brandon Davis (sixth-3.96m), Sprung (eighth- 3.81m), freshman Leonard Becerra (eighth- 3.81m).

Freshman Deon Conway placed third in the long jump with a jump of 6.20m. Others who long jumped were Mark Rudelich (eighth- 5.78m), freshman Mario Tinsley (10^th-5.61m), freshman De' Angelo Coss (11^th- 5.60m), sophomore Spencer Littlefield (12^th- 5.58m), freshman Jonathan Martinez (13^th- 5.22m) and sophomore Luis Salgado (14^th- 5.18m).

Those who triple jumped at the meet were freshman Deon Conway (fifth-12.76m), freshman De' Angelo Cross (6^th- 12.33m) and freshman Jonathan Martinez (11^th- 10.96m).

In the shot put senior Josiah Douglas placed fifth with a throw of 12.65 and freshman Brandon Pichen placed seventh with a throw of 11.30m. Other shot putter in the top 10 included freshman Eddie Gonzalez (eighth- 10.81m).

In the weight throw Gonzalez placed fifth throwing 11.11m and Pichen placed eighth with a throw of 9.38m. Other throwers included Douglas (ninth- 8.85m) and freshman Cody Murtaugh (12^th- 6.78m).

Next action for the Spartan track and field team comes on Saturday, January 17 when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Karl Schlender Invitational. Meet time is set for 10:00 a.m. in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
