The Aurora University women's basketball team broke into the winning column on Saturday afternoon at Webster University, defeating the host Gorloks 56-46.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans used a 16-4 first period to take control of the game early.
AU continued to shoot well from the field in the second period and held a lead at halftime 27-16.
Webster cut into the Spartan lead but got no closer than six with AU leading after three periods 37-30.
The Spartans saw the home Gorloks cut the lead to four (46-42) but used a 10-4 run in the final 2:15 to seal the victory 56-46.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Kelly Evers had a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds.
Bethany Dorrington had 12 points and six rebounds.
Anna Roszkowski had 13 rebounds and four points.
Mallory Cast had 11 points.

Nadine Vaughn had nine points.
