Spartans register triple digits for second consecutive game

The Aurora University men's basketball team opened the 2015-2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference season at Lakeland College on Tuesday night with a 103-99 win. The Spartans scored over 100 points for the second time in as many games this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU shot 33-of-64 from the field (51.6-percent) in the game.
The Spartans led by as many as 16 points in the first half before Lakeland cut the lead before half. At halftime, AU led 49-42.
An 11-1 run by Lakeland late in the second half had the home team leading 86-81 with 6:30 to play.
AU answered back and a three-point field goal by Kalmon Stokes with 1:13 to go gave the Spartans a 98-95 lead, a lead they would not relinquish.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Six Spartans scored in double figures.
Tyler Hall had a game-high 19 points and seven assists.
Josh Lynn had 17 points and six rebounds.
Nick Kladis had 16 points on three-of-four shooting from three-point range.
Kalmon Stokes had 14 points on five-of-six shooting from the field.
Quincy Jackson had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Phil Schuetz had 10 points.
 
FOR THE FOES
Six Muskies scored in double figures.
Joshuan McNeal had 18 points.
Pat McDonald had 18 points.
Travis Kell had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Tanner Hackl had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Next action for the Spartan men's basketball team comes on Saturday, November 28 when they host North Central College. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium.
