The Aurora University men's basketball team opened the 2015-2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference season at Lakeland College on Tuesday night with a 103-99 win. The Spartans scored over 100 points for the second time in as many games this season.

The Spartans led by as many as 16 points in the first half before Lakeland cut the lead before half. At halftime, AU led 49-42.
An 11-1 run by Lakeland late in the second half had the home team leading 86-81 with 6:30 to play.
AU answered back and a three-point field goal by
Kalmon Stokes with 1:13 to go gave the Spartans a 98-95 lead, a lead they would not relinquish.

Nick Kladis had 16 points on three-of-four shooting from three-point range.
