The Aurora University Spartan hockey team traveled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game in the schools young hockey history. AU scored the games final three goals for a 4-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENEDJust before the first intermission, AU broke the scoreless tie.
Michael Mikulan scored with assists from
Tim Santopoalo and Ron Lingren.
Midway through the second period Finlandia tied the game 1-1. Chris Hoffman scored with assists from Andrew Martin and Alex Holm.
AU took back the lead with 4:10 left in the second period,
Tom Greene scored with an assist to Lingren.
The game remained 2-1 until late in the third . AU scored a power play goal with
Anthony Pnewski getting the tally and assists to Greene and
Danny Zielecki.
AU put the game away in the final seconds as
Trevor Hoth scored the fourth and final AU goal with an assist to
Vincent Currao.

BEYOND THE BOX SCOREAU collects their first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win in their first NCHA contest.
The teams combined for 20 penalties, eight for AU and 12 for Finlandia.
