A hot shooting night led the Aurora University women's basketball team to a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over the visiting Cougars of Concordia University Chicago 97-91. Four Spartans scored in double figures led by freshman
Mallory Cast dropping 31 for a career high.

HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Spartans started the game off with a 12-0 run which gave them a good lead to end the first quarter up 23-11. The first Concordia basket came from a free-throw at 4:44 of the opening period.
Aurora closed the second period on an 8-0 run to head into halftime up 19 at 45-26.
The Spartans led by as many as 20 points several times in the third period. This was the largest lead margin they had and ended the third quarter up 71-52.
AU maintained a double-digit lead for a good portion of the final period. Concordia got to single digits with one minute left.
Despite the Cougars narrowing the AU lead, they never got closer than six points, including the final score.
Aurora out rebounded Concordia Chicago 42-27 and had 31 turnovers compared to the Cougars 21. The Spartans shot 54.1% from the field (33-61) while the Cougars were not far behind shooting 50% (34-68).

FOR THE SPARTANSMallory Cast led the Spartans in scoring with a career high 31 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field including 6-of-10 from three-point range.
Bethany Dorrington had a double-double of 23 points and 10 assists while also grabbing six rebounds.
Ashley Wilk had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Anna Roszkowski narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Molly Rosenow had eight points and five assists.

FOR THE FOESLauren Orr led the Cougars with 17 points.
Morgan Jahnke had 15 points.
Courtney Lofink had 14 points and nine assists.
