HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Spartans used a 15-4 run to open an 11-point lead at 21-10 with 11:41 to play in the first-half.
A 13-0 Maryville run over the next 4:30 pushed Maryville to a 23-21 lead on AU.
The Spartans went 0-5 from the field with four turnovers before a Shane Murray lay-up ended the drought.
AU closed the half on a 6-0 run to trail by one, 36-35 going into halftime.
After a closely played first 10 minutes of the second-half, AU led by one 69-68 on a three from
Kalmon Stokes.
With just under four minutes to play, the Spartans faced their largest deficit of 12 points at 91-79.
Nick Kladis hit a three with 40 seconds to play and AU was down by four at 95-91.
Maryville finished on a 9-3 run for the final score of 103-94.
