The Aurora University hockey team held a one goal lead entering the third period on Saturday night at Concordia University Wisconsin but a three goal period for the host Falcons did in the Spartans as AU fell 5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENEDAU got the scoring started with a power play goal from
Rihards Marenis 2:09 into the game.
Michael Mikulan and
Tom Greene had assists.
Concordia scored the next two goals in the first period to take a 2-1 lead after one period.
At 3:58 in the second, AU's
Justin Gregory knotted the game 2-2 with an even strength goal.
Raurie Petrich and Marenis had assists.
The Spartans took the lead with their second goal of the period, the only scoring in the session.
Tim Santopoalo tallied a power play goal at 19:39 with assists from
Trevor Hoth and Ron Lingren.
The third period lead for AU last 4:02 before CUW scored to tie the game. The Falcons added two more goals in the period, one on a power play for a 5-3 final.
AU had a 20-18 shot advantage through the first two periods before CUW out shot AU 25 to 8 in the third period.
