Aurora University freshman Deterrica Simpkins (St. Petersburg, Florida/Northside Christian H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. Her award also marks the seventh consecutive week a Spartan has won the award and the fourth of the season for Simpkins.
 
Simpkins followed her NACC Player of the Week selection with another outstanding performance at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational. She won both the 60 meter dash (7.85) and the 200 meter (25.57) with both times setting new AU records. Her time in the 200 meter put her fifth in Division III in 2015.
 
Next action for the Spartan track and field team comes on Saturday, February 28, 2015 when they compete in the 2015 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships. Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Kenosha, Illinois at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside.
