The Aurora University men's lacrosse team hosted the visiting Vikings of Augustana College on
Saturday April, 11, on AU's senior day. The Spartans celebrated and recognized seniors

Nolan Miller,
Jordan Williams and
Danny Loyall at halftime. The Spartans then went on to be victorious 12-9 in the contest.
Obriecht started the scoring early for the Spartans with two goals in under the first minute of play. The Spartans off of an assist from Obriecht with a goal from
Garret Rosiek added to the lead (3-0) at 11:26 of the first quarter, forcing a Augustana timeout. After Augie got on the scoreboard at 3:06, the Spartans finished the quarter with another goal from Rosiek of an assist from
Jason Koziol bringing the score to 4-1.

Augustana responded in the second quarter with two goals before the end of the half with the Spartans scoring a single goal, coming from junior
Max Matthai which left the halftime score 5-3.
Before Aurora took the field for the second half the seniors and their parents were recognized, for their dedication and commitment to Aurora University and its Athletics.Â
The second half scoring began quickly off a goal from Augustana's Kevin Gleason. Gleason was penalized after his goal for taunting and AU responded quickly when Williams scored off of an assist from Loyall. MIller added an unassisted goal shortly after and AU led by three at 7-4.
Augustana then went on a 4-1 run in the third quarter and as tension filled the crowd, the score at the end of the third quarter was 8-8. Obriecht earned a hat trick with the lone AU goal in the Augustana run.

54 seconds into the fourth quarter, Augustana scored again to take their first lead of the game at 9-8. Refusing to be stopped on senior day, the Spartans rallied with four unanswered goals. Miller got the run started and added two goals in the stretch while Rosiek added his third goal with an assist from Obriecht for the game winner and freshman
Nick Glaser finished the Spartan scoring with the 12th goal. Rosiek assisted on the last two goals of the game.

AU sophomore
Cameron Brooks stood tall in net recording four ground balls and 10 saves for the Spartans to earn his eighth win of the season.
With the win, AU is now 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the MLC. Next action for the Spartan men's lacrosse comes on Wednes
day, April 15 when they host Concordia University Wisconsin. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
