The Aurora University women's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead and coasted to an 18-7 win at Loras College on Saturday afternoon in a Midwest Women'sLacrosse Conference contest.
Behind the first-half hat tricks from
Rachel Cochran and
Kenny Hughes, the Spartans built a 10-3 lead going into halftime. Adding other scores in the opening half were
Chloe Madison (two),
Taylor Arcivar and
Andrea Colford.
In the second half, AU continued to score and midway through the period, the running clock was enacted when the Spartans built a 10-goal advantage. Cochran scored two more goals for five on the day while Hughes scored once, Madison and Colford twice and
Danielle Morgan scored once.
Allee Samuel earned the win with four saves as AU improved to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in the MWLC. Next action for the Spartan women's lacrosse comes on Wednes
day, April 22 when they host Benedictine University. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
