The Aurora University Spartans held an early third period lead but were unable to hold on and lost at Lawrence University 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENEDLawrence scored the only goal of the first period at 8:54.
Just 43 seconds into the second period, Lawrence took a 2-0 lead.
At 17:32 in the second and with six seconds remaining on a power play, AU senior
Michael Mikulan snapped a 198:39 scoreless streak. He was assisted by
Ron Lindgren and
Gregory Sauers.
The Spartans knotted the game 2-2 just two minutes later with Tom Green scoring on an assist from
Trevor Hoth.
In the final minutes of the second, Lawrence regained the lead with a power play goal.
AU was not done scoring in the second period as Hoth scored with 1:08 left. He had helpers from Greene and
Tim Santopoalo.
Early in the third period the Spartans took their first lead of the game. Santopoalo tallied the goal with assists from Hoth and
Connor Quinn.
But two Lawrence goals 47 seconds a part (15:17 and 14:30) gave the home team the lead 5-4.
Lawrence added one more goal on the power play midway through the period for the final 6-4 score.
