Spartans defeat Warriors behind Kladis record tying performance

Led by a record setting performance from senior Nick Kladis and another strong offensive showing, the Aurora University men's basketball team defeated the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors 102-75 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans used an early 11-2 run to take a 20-9 lead with 12:39 to play.
Wisconsin Lutheran answered with a 19-7 run putting Wisconsin Lutheran up one just over the midway mark of the first half at 28-27
Another run, this one from the Spartans of 13-2 gave AU a 40-30 lead with five minutes to play in the opening half.
The teams went to halftime with AU leading 48-41.
After the teams traded three-point baskets for the first three minutes of the second-half, AU led by 10, 57-47.
Spartan Nick Kladis hit one of his 10 three's on the night at 13:59 of the second to give AU a 16 point advantage at 67-51.
AU held their largest lead of 32 points on the final three of the night from Kladis to make the score 97-65.
The Spartans finished the game in fine fashion and won 102-75.
 
BEYOND THE BOX
Nick KladIs tied an AU men's basketball single game school record for three-point field goals made with 10. He was 10-of-11 on the afternoon.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Nick Kladis led the Spartans with 38 points shooting, including 12-of-15 from the field and his AU record tying 10-of-11 from three-point range.
Tyler Hall had a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists.
Chris Fritsch had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Kalmon Stokes had 11 points on five-of-seven from the field.
Jovon Griffin had 10 points and five assists.
 
FOR THE FOES
Collin Kennedy scored 22 points.
Jake Jarnigo had 14 points and 8 assists.
