The Aurora University women's basketball team won their fourth game in five contests with an impressive 73-67 win at arch rival Benedictine University on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENEDAU trailed early in the first period before finishing on a 5-0 run to take a 20-18 lead at the end of one.
The Spartans grabbed the lead in the first period and would not relinquish it the rest of the game.
In the second, AU started on a 7-2 run and led by seven, 27-20.
After BU cut the lead down to four, the Spartans rattled off a 5-0 run capped by a
Bethany Dorrington three to lead 35-26.
The teams went into halftime with AU leading 35-29.
BU opened the third period with a 5-0 run to cut the AU lead to one but the Spartans answered immediately with an 8-2 run, five of the points coming from
Mallory Cast.
After reaching the games largest lead at nine, AU got a three from Cast just before the third period buzzer to lead by seven at the end of three, 52-45.
AU held the lead in the fourth and with 3:33 to play, built the games largest lead at 10, 63-53.
In the final minute, BU fouled the Spartans and AU answered, going 10-of-12 from the free-throw line to clinch the win.
BEYOND THE BOXAU had another fantastic night at the free-throw line, shooting 87-percent, going 20-of-23.

FOR THE SPARTANSBethany Dorrington recorded 23 points and five assists.
Mallory Cast scored 19 points.
Anna Roszkowski had 15 points and seven rebounds.
Ashley Wilk had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Payton Sims and DeKayla Crayton each had 14 points.
