HOW IT HAPPENED
The Buccaneers came out firing early and had a 9-3 lead over the Spartans five minutes into the first quarter.
After multiple three pointers from
Alyssa Brems, the Spartans cut their deficit to four, only down 19-15 at the end of the first quarter.
AU worked their way all the way back and led 23-21 with 6:48 to go in the second quarter.
Heading into halftime, AU would trail Beloit 28-25.
The Spartans came out strong in the second half, securing a 31-30 lead early in the third.
After Beloit made a run, AU answered with a run of their own and trailed 40-36 at the end of three quarters.Â
The fourth quarter was a toe-to-toe battle, but the Spartans couldn't get the ball to fall and fell 59-51.
