The Aurora University men's basketball team traveled to Illinois Wesleyan University for an early season tip-off classic and took on the DuHawks of Loras College. AU would fall to Loras 112-99.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams battled in the first 10 minutes of the first half with AU building a nine-point lead (33-24) when
Chris Mahoney drained a three.
Following a
Henry Hudson jumper, AU had the games largest lead at 10 points (35-25) with 9:30 to go in the first-half.
Foul trouble got the best of the Spartans in the first-half as Loras fought their way back into the game.
Heading into halftime, AU trailed by two, 57-55.
The first part of the second-half played out just like the first-half with AU maintaining a lead as the teams battled.
With 11:06 to play, AU led by eight at 80-72.
In the final eight minutes of the game, AU would see Loras shoot 28 free throws as the game slowed down immensely.
AU would get no closer than three points (2:32 left) as Loras converted on free throws to seal the game.

Marcus Myers had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Tyler Carlson had a team-high 19 points.
Max Vickers had 13 points and six rebounds.
