The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team opened the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule at Benedictine University on Saturday afternoon and fell 60-48.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Midway through the first quarter the game was knotted 8-8 with AU being led by
Allie Reichert.
Benedictine ended the quarter on a 6-2 run to lead 14-10.
Led by nine points from
Adriana Ramirez in the second quarter, AU pulled closer to BU and trailed 30-27 at halftime.
Midway through the third, the game remained a three-point contest with AU trailing 36-33.
The Spartan would see themselves behind by seven (40-33) heading into the fourth.
After BU opened up a double-digit lead, Reichert and
Rachel Baumgartner teamed up to pulled AU back to down nine with over five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
The Spartans would fall by a final score of 60-48.
