HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans came out firing and showed their dominance right off the jump ball, building an early 9-2 lead and forcing IIT to call a timeout just minutes into the first quarter.
After IIT pulled the score to 9-6, the Spartans used a 7-1 run to build a 16-7 lead and never looked back.
AU would end the final 1:15 of the first quarter on a 10-0 run to lead 26-11.
The Spartans went seven of eight from the free-throw line in the 10-0 run.
The second quarter saw the Spartans maintain the double-digit lead, never allowing IIT to get any closer than 12 points and headed into halftime up 45-30.
With AU leading 50-32, IIT pulled to 11 (52-41) off a 9-2 run.
But the Spartans rebuilt a 15-point lead, 62-47 at the end of the third.
AU would control the final quarter led by 11 points from
Alyssa Brems.
When the final horn sounded, AU won handily 80-59.

Adriana Ramirez went 9-of-14 from the field for 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
Kourtney Speer had eight points, four assists and four rebounds.
