The Aurora University men's basketball team opened conference play at Concordia University of Chicago with a 106-95 win in River Forest on Wednesday night. The game saw a combined 29 three-point field goals made with AU converting 16 on their way to the 11-point win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans jumped out to a lightning fast 13-0 run just three minutes into the game led by five points from
Ty Carlson.
Just over three minutes later after a
Marcus Myers three and free-throw shortly after, AU led by 19 (25-6).
A 12-0 CUC run cut the AU led to seven (25-18) midway through the first-half.
The Spartans would see their lead dwindle to just one (32-31) with 6:42 left in the first.
Following a
Shane Murray tip-in with 2:51 left, AU led by double-digits again, 42-32.
AU would lead by six going into halftime, 49-43.
Five minutes into the second-half, AU trailed for the first and only time on the night, 58-57.
Myers get a quick lay-up to answer and give the Spartans the lead at 59-58 with exactly 15 minutes to play.
The Spartans would continue on an for a 20-3 run over the next five minutes and take back control of the contest at 77-61. Myers had four points and Carlson six in the run.
As AU controlled the lead late, CUC sent the Spartans to the free-throw line but AU would not let the host Cougars to get any closer than seven points and went on to win by 11, 106-95.
FOR THE SPARTANS
All five Spartan starters scored in double figures.
Max Vickers had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Ty Carlson had a team-high 22 points on four-of-six from three-point range.
Pat Kramp had 21 points on five-of-nine from three-point range and five assists.
Marcus Myers had 19 points on three-of-four from three-point range and seven rebounds.
Jovonn Griffin had 14 points and nine rebounds.
