Coming off a win last weekend, the Aurora University hockey team traveled to MSOE to take on the Raiders on Friday night. The final score was not indicative of the game as AU fell 5-2 in a tightly played game late into the third period.

HOW IT HAPPENEDMSOE scored quickly on the first period, 2:19 into the game.
On a power play early in the second period, AU scored to get on the board.
Tom Greene tallied the goal with assists from
Rihards Marenis and
Rudolfs Kalvitis.
MSOE regained the lead at 12:36 of the second period.
Early in the third, MSOE tallied a power play goal to go up 3-1.
Only 19 seconds after the MSOE goal, Spartan senior
Michael Mikulan scored to pull AU within a goal. He was assisted by
Trevor Hoth and
Conor Jonasson.
An unassisted MSOE goal at 6:51 gave the home team a 4-2 lead.
After pulling
Jared Rutledge for an extra attacked, the Spartans allowed an empty net goal for the 5-2 final score.
