Men's lacrosse rolls to win at Whittier

The Aurora University men's traveled to Whittier, California where they played the second game of their spring break trip against Whittier College. AU won the game 14-6 on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jason Koziol started the scoring off with a goal two minutes into the game.                                          
This AU tally would be answered shortly after by a Whittier goal.                                                                   
Jason Koziol then scored his second goal of the game followed by another AU goal from Trevor McNamara to end the 1st quarter 3-1. 
Bailey Smith would start the 2nd quarter off putting another Spartan goal and a 4-1 lead.                             
This would be followed by a Whittier goal making the score 4-2 early in the second.                                                           
AU would then go on a scoring frenzy with Bailey Smith scoring three more goals as well as Trevor McNamara scoring his second of the night.
The Spartans would lead 8-2 going into halftime.                                                                                          
It would be all AU in the 3rd with two goals from Hunter So and Nick Glaser.     
Through three quarters, AU held a commanding 10-2 lead.                                                             
The Spartans would come out in the 4th scoring two goals from Matt Sammarco and Trevor McNamara.                                                                                         
Whittier would stop the AU frenzy with a goal to make it 12-3.                                                                           
Bailey Smith added his 5th of the game putting AU up 13-3.                                                            
Whittier would not go away easily netting three more goals before Max Matthai scored the final goal of the game making the final 14-6.           

FOR THE SPARTANS
Bailey Smith had five goals and 1 assist.
Jason Koziol had two goals and three assists.
Trevor McNamara had three goals and one assist.
Tyler Lombardi had nine saves in the winning effort in net.
