Spartans down DuHawks on AU Senior Day

On an abnormally wintry afternoon on the Aurora University campus, the Spartan women's lacrosse team hosted a multitude of events as they welcome the Loras College Duhawks, AU prospect day and AU senior day. AU was successful all around as they defeated the Duhawks 20-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans took an early lead and never looked back as AU senior Chloe Madison started off the AU scoring frenzy with a goal exactly one minute into the game. She was assisted by Rachel Cochran.
Within the next two minutes, Lauren Whitfield, Madison, and Kenny Hughes would add to the lead to make it 4-0 early on.
At 25:37 and a sudden snow squall that presented blizzard like conditions on Vago Field, the game was delayed approximately 15 minutes to let the system move through.
The Spartans would continue to roll, scoring seven more goals from Rachel Cochran, Kenny Hughes, Danielle Morgan, Andrea Colford, and Lauren Whitfield.
The Spartans went on an 11-0 run before Loras College could stop the streak.
AU would end up leading at the half 15-2.
The second half was all Spartans as they outscored Loras 5-0.
Three of the five second half goals would come from Kenny Hughes.
When the final horn sounded on senior day, AU was victorious 20-2.

Six different Spartans had goals today. Five had multiple goals.
Chloe Madison had two goals and seven assists.
Kenny Hughes had seven goals and one assist.
Danielle Morgan had four goals and one assist
Lauren Whitfield had three goals and two assists.
Rachel Cochran had three goals and one assist.
Andrea Colford had one goal.
