AU women fall in final regular season contest at IIT

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team dropped the final regular season contest at MWLC for Illinois Institute of Technology. Despite the loss, AU did not see their seed effected for the upcoming conference tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with two goals from Chloe Madison and one from Andrea Colford.
- After an IIT goal, Colford added her second of the day and AU led 4-1 with 20 minutes to play in the first-half.
- IIT scored four goals in the next 14 minutes and took a 5-4 lead.
- AU's final goal of the first half came from Colford with just over five minutes to play and the game was tied at 5.
- IIT scored the last three goals of the half to lead 8-5 at halftime.
- IIT added the first tally of the second half to build a 9-5 lead.
- AU scored four of the next five goals (Kenny Hughes, Colford (2) and Danielle Morgan) to pull within one at 10-9.
- The Spartans would manage only one score in the final 19 minutes and IIT went on to win 14-10.

Next action for the Spartan women's lacrosse team comes on Friday May 6 when they travel to Concordia University Wisconsin for the 2016 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament. AU is the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 3 Augsburg College at 4:00 p.m. in Mequon, Wisconsin.
