Men's Lacrosse - NCAA Championships Second Round Preview

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team return to the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships second round or Sweet 16 for the fourth straight season. The Spartans advanced to the second round after defeating Albion College 12-11 in overtime on Wednesday, May 11 in the NCAA first round.

The Spartans are currently 17-2 overall, which is a new program record for wins in a season. The Spartans will travel in the NCAA Championships second round to Denison University on Saturday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. (EST) in Granville, Ohio.

Match-up -
  • The Spartans will travel to Denison University (17-1) in the first round. AU fell at Albion in the regular season on March 19, 14-13 in overtime.
AU All-Time NCAA Tournament History –
  • AU is making their fourth trip to the second round in the NCAA Tournament in the sixth year of the program.
    • 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
  • The Spartans have advanced to the second round in all four of their previous NCAA Championship appearances.
