Timely baskets and converting free throws was the perfect combination for the Aurora University women's basketball team as they took to the road for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory on Saturday at Edgewood College, with AU winning 62-51.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams started the game off battling for an early lead but the Spartans began to break away late in the first, finishing the quarter on an 8-0 run.
Alyssa Brems made a breakaway layup to help spread the score gap for AU as they took a 14-6 after one quarter of play.
The Eagles came out in the second quarter narrowing the AU lead down to 14-10.
Adriana Ramirez scored nine second quarter points for the Spartans to give them a commanding 27-18 lead going into half.
Edgewood would pull to within three (36-33) late in the third quarter but free throws from Ramirez and an
Ally Van Bogaert basket gave AU a seven point lead after three quarters.
Early in the fourth quarter, AU knocked down free throws to maintain their lead and keep the score at a comfortable distance at 44-36.
The Spartans took their biggest lead in the fourth quarter at 12 when
Ally Van Bogaert hits a layup to put Aurora ahead 54-42.
The Spartans would continue to hold the lead and end up winning the contest by a score of 62-51.

Adriana Ramierez led the Spartans with double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Ally Van Bogaert recorded 16 points and had seven rebounds.
