The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team opened the 2017-2018 season at Beloit College Buccaneers with a 74-57 victory. AU led for the whole contest except for the opening 2:32. Once the Spartans gained the lead, they stepped on the gas pedal and never looked back

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU trailed 3-0 but a three and two-point basket on back to back possessions from
Alyssa Brems gave AU a lead they would never give up.
- The Spartans were firing on offense, going on a 14-0 run and 9-2 run in the opening quarter to lead 26-10.
- AU continued to build on their lead in the second quarter and with a
Rachel Baumgartner basket late in the second, the Spartans had their largest lead of 22 (40-18).
- Beloit made a run in the third quarter but AU never allowed the lead to get to single digits and led 55-42 after three quarters.
- AU finished the game on a 11-3 run and won 74-57.

- Four Spartans scored in double digits with nine difference players scoring on the night.
- Bailey Kramer led with 13 points and six assists.
