The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team fell behind in the first quarter, stormed back but a third quarter Eagle on-slaught proved to much for the Spartan women to overcome in a 72-61 loss on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans started slowly and fell behind early to Benedictine 24-9 in the first quarter.
- A 13-0 Spartan run to close out the second quarter pulled AU within three at 36-33.
- Allie Reichert led the surge with five points and a Bri Hall three just before the buzzer sent AU into halftime excited.
- The third quarter saw the Spartans go cold from the field and were out scored 26-17.
- The fourth quarter had AU begin a late come back and pull within 11, 72-61 but neither team scored a basket in the final 1:30 of the game for the final 72-61 score.
FOR THE SPARTANS
- Julie Galauner had 22 points.
- Bri Hall had 12 points and four rebounds.
- Allie Reichert had nine points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
