The Aurora University women's lacrosse team rallied in the second-half to force overtime against Augustana College on Wednesday afternoon on AU's Vago Field. The Spartans would end up falling in double overtime 9-8 in an exciting contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was low scoring for the first 23 minutes as Augustana led 2-0.
Spartan
Taylor Arcivar got the scoring rolling for AU at 6:59 in the first-half on an assist from
Lauren Whitfield.
Augustana scored the final three goals of the first-half to take a 5-1 lead into intermission.
After a Viking goal early in the second, AU's
Kendall Urban scored on an assist from Whitfield.
With 21:50 to play, Augustana held a 7-2 lead.
A free position goal by
Kenny Hughes at 20:26 began the AU comeback.
Over the next 15 minutes, the AU run built to 6-0 with goals from Hughes, Whitfield and Urban.
Spartan
Lauren Whitfield had the final two goals, tying and the goal that gave the Spartans an 8-7 lead with 5:41 to play.
Augustana tied the game up 8-8 with 4:58 to play.
Neither team mustered a top scoring chance before heading into overtime.
In the first overtime, Augustana managed the only two shots of the two three minute sudden victory session.
In the second overtime, AU and
Kenny Hughes got a big chance with the ball ringing off the post.
1:50 into the second overtime, Augustana scored to win the game over AU 9-8.
