Scoring frenzy lifts AU over BU in women's lacrosse

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team hosted and dominated the Eagles of Benedictine University, winning 20-8 with 14 combined goals from Kenny Hughes and Andrea Colford.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU .scored twice in the opening 1:25 of the game with tallies from Kenny Hughes and Andrea Colford with both coming off Lauren Whitfield assists.
Benedictine tied the game up 2-2 with 24:45 left in the first-half.
The next four goals went AU's way with two coming from Hughes.
After a BU tally, the Spartans got unassisted goals from Hughes and Colford for an 8-3 lead with just under 10 minutes to play.
Following a BU score, AU tallied the final four goals of the first-half  with Hughes (2), Colford and Kendall Urban scoring.
The teams went to halftime with AU leading 12-4.
After a scoreless opening seven minutes of the second-half, the teams scored 30 seconds a part with Hughes scoring for AU.
AU got to the running clock with a pair of Colford goals and one from Hughes to lead 16-5 with just over 19 minutes to play.
A goal from Kendall Urban and three from Lauren Whitfield rounded out the AU scoring with BU getting some late tallies for the 20-8 AU victory.

Kenny Hughes had eight goals, four assists and three ground balls.
Andrea Colford had six goals and four draw controls.
Lauren Whitfield had three goals and four assists.
Reilly Armstrong made eight saves in the win.
