The Aurora University men's track team took advantage of the highly competitive 2017 Benedictine Eagle Relays and Invitational, which spanned over April 14 and 15. The Spartan men took 5th place out of 29 scoring teams with 68.5 points, while winner Benedictine had 105 points. The Spartan men broke a multitude of school and personal records over the weekend in both individual events and relays. The 4x800 meter relay squad consisting of seniors

Carl Way broke AU's school record with a mark of 7:59 placing 5
th in the meet, which included a furious finish by Way in order to do so. Junior
Brandon Pichen broke his own school record in the hammer throw with a 1
st place throw of 57.90m, which has him currently ranked 2
nd in the nation in division 3. Junior
Nick Majka had an excellent meet by breaking his personal record in the long jump placing 4
th with a mark of 6.88m; Majka also placed 6
th in the high jump with a strong mark of 1.95m. Junior
Terry Moore had a phenomenal day by winning the men's 400 meter race with a ridiculously fast mark of 48.98s. Junior
Ryan Njegovan put on yet another dominant performance by placing 1
st overall in the discus with a mark of 55.96m and 2
nd in the shot put at 16.25m.
