The Aurora University Spartan baseball team hosted Carthage College in a non-conference tilt at the Stuart Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon. The Spartans fell to the Red Men 19-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans fell behind in the first inning as three errors, two walks and three hits allowed Carthage to take a 4-0 lead.
- AU scored one run in the bottom of the inning with a lead off single by Jeff Mayes and he came around to score later in the inning on a ground out.
- Carthage added three runs in the third and five in the fourth to lead 12-1.
- Spartan Michael Fidler hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Down 14-3, AU saw Adam Lipscomb reach on an error and score on a double from Cole Davis in the bottom of the fifth.
- The Spartans added a run in the seventh but saw Carthage add on five in the eighth for the 19-5 final score.
