The Aurora University women's lacrosse team celebrated the senior class of 2017 prior to taking on the Cougars of Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon. After a slow start the Spartans easily handled the Cougars, winning 14-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU recognized the senior class of Kaylyn Gilmer, Briana Lakebrink, Kailey Kamberis, Lauren Whitfield and Kenny Hughes during pregame.
Lauren Whitfield got the scoreless run to start the game snapped with a goal at 20:12 with an assist from Kendall Urban.
Eight minutes later, Kenny Hughes scored on a Andrea Colford assist giving AU a 2-0 lead.
After Whitfield scored on a free position, CUC scored to give AU a 3-1 advantage.
Kendall Urban, Kaylyn Gilmer and Hughes scored in the final 1:59 of the first half to give AU a 6-1 lead going into half.
Spartan Andrea Colford scored the first three goals of the second-half, putting AU up 9-1.
16 seconds after the third Colford goal, Kenny Hughes scored and AU led 10-1. Lauren Whitfield had assists on three of the four second-half goals.
CUC scored a pair of goals around scores from Spartans Lauren Whitfield and Taylor Arcivar. With 13 minutes to play, AU led 12-3.
Whitfield and Hughes scored one more goal each to give AU a 14-3 lead before a late CUC goal for the eventual 14-4 final score.

FOR THE SPARTANS
Lauren Whitfield had four goals, three assists, 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
Kenny Hughes had four goals and two assists.
Andrea Colford had three goals and two assists.
Reilly Armstrong made six saves for the win.
