AU women win easily in foul plagued game with Edgewood

The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team remained unbeaten in 2018 with a 77-62 win over Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon. The game was plagued with fouls as the teams combined for 54 fouls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans started off slowly and trailed 9-2 midway through the first.
- AU finished strong in the final minute though and cut thr deficit to four at 16-12.
- The second quarter saw four lead changes and four tie scores as the team went into half all knotted up 28-28.
- The third quarter saw both teams begin to get in foul trouble.
- A Bri Hall layup with 3:51 on the clock gave AU their largest lead (five) at 43-38.
- Edgewood answered with a 6-0 run to lead 44-43 with just over one minute to play.
- The Spartans though finished the quarter on a 6-0 run and led 49-44 after three.
- Free throws were a plenty in the fourth quarter as Edgewood would go 10-of-16.
- The Spartans battled through though and built the lead despite the foul trouble that saw five Spartans foul out.
- AU ran off a 20-6 run and led by 19 with just under a minute to go.
- The Spartans out flew the Eagles in the end, 77-62.

- Bri Hall had 17 points and eight rebounds.
- Julie Galauner had 17 points, three assists and two rebounds.
- Adriana Ramirez had 17 points, six rebounds and two assists.
- Alyssa Brems had 15 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
