The Aurora University men's hockey team held a 4-3 lead late in the third period but saw the host Vikings of Lawrence University score twice in the last half of the final period to knock off the Spartans 5-4.

- AU's Ashton Amaya answer with a pair of goals in the first period though, giving the Spartans a 2-1 lead going into intermission.
- Very early into the second, Lawrence tied the game up and the 2-2 score stood heading into the third.
- The third period saw five goals put on the board.
- At 5:54 into the third, Lawrence took a 3-2 lead with a power play goal.
- Minutes later the Spartans headed to the power play and Lordanthony Grissom scored his second of the year to tie the game 3-3.
- A short time later, Josh Delezenne found Rihards Marenis and AU had a 4-3 lead.
- With 5:34 to go in the game, AU saw the home team tie the game up 4-4.
- Less than a minute later Lawrence took the last lead of the game and AU would go on to lose 5-4.
