The Aurora University Spartan men's basketball team used a big second-half rally to surge past the Marian University Sabres in a key Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference road game on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU did not lead the game into late in the second-half.
- Midway through the first half, AU trailed 25-21.
- The Spartans trailed by one, 28-27 with 5:55 to go in the first.
- A 13-4 run for Marian found the Spartans down 10 heading to halftime.
- AU quickly found the deficit reach 15 and with 15:13 to play, the Spartans were down 50-35.
- A 21-4 run though over the next eight minutes shot the Spartans into a 56-54 lead.

- The game would be tied 58-58 with 4:55 to play.
- A pair of Carlson free throws gave AU the lead and the Spartans would not give it back.
- A dunk from
Marcus Myers in the final seconds gave AU their largest lead of seven (72-65).
- The Spartans would win 72-68.
