The Aurora University men's hockey team hosted top ranked St. Norbert College on Saturday evening at Fox Valley Ice Arena. The Spartans were tied 2-2 heading into the third period before falling to the Green Knights 5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early in the first period, St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead on a redirection in from of AU goalie
Josh Boyko.
- The Spartans were able to tie the game with 2:18 to go in the first.
Lordanthony Grissom scored his first of the year with assists coming from
Rihards Marenis and
Drew Doyon.
- With two seconds left in the first period and on the power play, St. Norbert scored to take a 2-1 lead into intermission.
- Midway through the second, AU scored the only tally of the period.
Brendan Logan scored with assists from
Tim Faulkner and
Ashton Amaya.
- With a 2-2 game going into the third, AU hoped to shock the hockey world. St. Norbert scored twice at 6:44 and 13:05 to take a 4-2 lead.
- The Spartans were not done though. With 4:17 to go in the game,
Rihards Marenis lit the lamp with assists to Doyon and Faulkner.
- AU pulled Boyko in an attempt to tie the game but St. Norbert stopped that with an empty net goal with 18 seconds to go.
