The Aurora University women's volleyball team defeated longtime rival Benedictine University on Tuesday night on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium, 3-0 (27-25, 25-10, 25-20).

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- The Spartans trailed early in the opening set, falling behind 6-1 and later trailed 21-16 when Head Coach
James Seitelman called timeout.
- The veteran Spartans came out of the break and used a 11-4 run to win 27-25.
- AU again fell behind in the second set, down 2-0, the Spartans dominated the rest of the set, going on to win easily 25-10. The Spartans hit .407 in the set led by six kills from
Katie Vondra.
- The third set again found AU down early, 5-1.Â
- The Spartans battled the way back and grabbed the first lead at 13-12. As has been the case for AU, they out scored AU late in the set, finishing on a 7-2 run to win 25-20.
