HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter saw both teams hold leads as the Spartans led by as many as seven and trailed by as many as four points.
- The Spartans led 20-19 after one quarter.
- The second quarter saw the Spartans fall behind and trailed by seven, 42-35 heading to halftime.
- With 5:39 left in the third, the Spartans trailed 50-42 but a 16-2 run gave the visitors an six-point lead (58-52) going to the fourth.
- The Spartans continued to build their lead and with 3:43 left in the game led by 16 at 71-55 after an
Adriana Ramirez free throw.
- But in the remaining time, the Spartans went 0-of-4 from the field but did go 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
- Three turnovers including a controversial traveling call in the final seconds for the Spartans was compounded by Anderson going 8-of-10 from the field as the Spartan lead dissipated.
- Anderson converted on three three-point field goals in the final 21 seconds to slip past Aurora, 79-78.
